What You’ll Do
We are looking for a part-time or full-time legal assistant or paralegal who has a growth mindset, and displays trust, responsibility, and unity. The ideal candidate will be client focused and customer facing. The paralegal will assist with client intake, drafting trusts and wills along with other wealth transfer planning documents.
Responsibilities
• Assist with client intake, managing schedule and calendars
• Prepare written correspondence, proofreading and editing
• Draft trusts and wills, along with other estate planning documents
• Draft deeds and corporate documents
• File documents with county and state governmental offices
• Prepare estate planning binders
• Perform legal research
• Prepare and file probate forms with Court
• Communicate with clients verbally and in writing
• Manage and organize client files
What You’ll Bring
Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
1. Legal Knowledge: A strong understanding of estate planning documents, process and procedures.
2. Attention to detail: Will have excellent attention to detail to accurately represent a client’s wishes and to ensure legal requirements are met.
3. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks, deadlines, and complex documentation.
4. Superior Writing Skills: Experience drafting accurate, organized, and well-structured legal documents, and correspondence. Will show attention to detail and precise language to ensure professionalism of all written materials in the legal context.
5. Following Instructions: Will be able to absorb instructions quickly and then accurately perform tasks consistently.
6. Research Abilities: Solid experience conducting online general research, searching public deed records, statutory filing instructions and Colorado statute.
7. Confidentiality: Will show a strong commitment in handling sensitive personal and financial information.
8. Problem – Solving: Ability to navigate unique situations and challenges and be able to provide a solution.
9. Interpersonal skills: Ability to build rapport with clients and be empathetic to their needs.
10. Time Management: A track record of being able to balance multiple tasks and deadlines while ensuring the quality of work is maintained.
Minimum Qualifications
• BA or BS degree, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years paralegal experience in a law firm with demonstrated expertise in estate planning and probate and/or corporate transactions
• Working knowledge of trust and estate planning
•Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and OneNote
